Review Time, Best Time

I know everyone loves this blog, since I’m clearly the most qualified person to talk about NYC. Born and
raised New Yorkers? Nah. A 20-year-old college student in Texas? Sounds good to me. In this edition, I’ll be reviewing a blog post that’s similar to my blog as a whole (because great minds think alike). Currently, Latetly is the blog I have chosen; written by a girl named Paige, she describes her blog as being versatile and a place where she will discuss anything and everything. Her New York post covers places to eat and visit in the city, so let’s dive in.

Something that I absolutely loved about this blog was the abundance of photos she had. I can’t count the number of times I’ve found a blog without any photos to reference. The photos made it feel more personal and I think it really helps people who read this post because they’re able to see photos and decide if they want to go. I also enjoyed her photos inside the Tiffany & Co. store really capture the reader’s attention. It was refreshing that she didn’t just google photos on Google, she used and published the pictures from her trip.

She really makes herself personable to her audience by telling a story with each little place or giving advice about how to fully enjoy the experience. For instance, she mentions grabbing and a croissant and coffee while walking around Fifth Avenue and window-shopping at Tiffany’s. She also talks about what food items to get, which I thought added something special to her blog. At Black Tap, she says to get
“The Cookie Shake”, and then goes into details about what’s inside of it. I think her abundance of details really makes her unique. As I was reading the comments, I saw that people really enjoyed that too and saying that they will have to try her recommendations. This is something that I want to implement more in my posts. Be sure to check out Paige’s blog for more tips and tricks!
